Socks! A year in the making!

I don't enjoy making socks very often --- probably why it took me (precisely) one year to make this pair!

Pattern is the Waving Lace Socks by Evelyn A. Clark from the Favorite Socks book. Yarn is Knit Picks Felici in the Positively Pink colourway.

Nature pics from the cabin

11 photos today --- mushrooms, wild strawberry, more mushrooms and our furry kitty.

We've had a very wet spring and the ground is rather saturated -- plus a few cool days, and we've got tons of mushrooms in the forests. As well, the wild strawberries are starting to pop up all around the lot. They are so little and you really have to watch for them, being only about half-inch big. There's some interesting flowers out there this year too that I've never seen before, including some purple passionflowers, which I am fairly certain are not native to the area and I'm sure my dad must have planted some years ago before he passed away. I'm still doing research to figure out what the rest are.

Monsters for Twins

I forgot to post pics of these guys many weeks ago when I finished them. Both are the same pattern, Dot the Dress up monster by Rebecca Danger. They were a gift to a coworker for her twin grand daughters. They all loved 'em. The twins were totally engrossed with the little x-bellybuttons.

Each about 10" tall, made of worsted weight yarn.

Played with the new camera a bit tonight. One of our cars in the yard and the kitty cuddling with a stuffie. ok, so he wasn't really cuddling with it... and is usually trying to kill it when she's awake... ... ... I was just having some fun
