Fall is coming

I took that photo at the cabin this past weekend. The first fall leaf.

When we drove out there on Thursday, all was green on the way there and around the property. By the time we left on Sunday there were at least a half dozen trees turning red and orange and on the drive home there were lots of trees turning yellow already.

Summer flew by so fast.

Nature, pics

Spent the weekend at the cabin and of course, there were a few interesting fungi to see in the forest.... LOOK how tiny these little guys are!

I have so so so many mushroom photos now, from the past few years, I should put out a calendar, or two!!

On another note, we're pretty set now to make up our Dream Catchers soon. We've been collecting feathers for a few years now and drying out our red willow frames. The willow was cut from the the property near the shore.

FOs: Baby Pullover & Blanket Squares

Rebecca Danger, the awesome lady who designs most of the monster patterns I knit from gave birth to a cutie-patootie son in March, so myself and a bunch of ladies who are in the Dangercrafts group on Ravelry decided to make her a few things. One of the girls in the group lives near Rebecca and delivered them all to her before baby Danger arrived.

My contribution was a baby owlet sweater. The pattern is by Kate Davies. I love it!

I've made a couple of these before but this time I bound off the neckline really loose after finding out that one of the others I made was just too small to fit over baby's head!

Rebecca was so surprised and happy with everything we sent her. She sent me a little note saying she loved the sweater.

Another of the group members had a gorgeous baby girl in August so the group again decided on a secret package for her too. We decided to make her a big blankie, using the Dream Catcher Baby Blanket pattern by Susan B. Anderson. We're going to up it to about 40-48 squares though. There's enough of us participating that we each only had to do about 3-4 squares each.

Mom loved her package, the blanket and all the other items we sent her. She was overwhelmed. Here's photos of my blankie squares and mom and baby with blankie.

Isn't she just the sweetest thing you've ever seen!

Daphne & Delilah monsters

A purple & lilac set of Daphne & Delilah monsters (pattern by Rebecca Danger, Dangercrafts) for a friend to send off as a birthday gift to another friend's daughter. Monsters are heading to Sweden!  I made a modification to the body and added a few rows to make momma monster a tad taller (@ 6 rows). This is one of my favourite Dangercrafts patterns!

Sunny Olearia

Olearia, pattern by Georgia Hallam, in size 1 (19" chest).

GREAT pattern, well written and so easy to follow. Also, lots of options in the styling --- long sleeves, short sleeves, cap sleeves. Also the gathering can be just on the bodice or full body.  Options for cardigan or a shrug. Knit all in one piece from the top down, seamless. Love this pattern!
